Kid Rock's LA Fires Comments Go Viral

Kid Rock’s recent comments about the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County have gone viral on social media.

The wildfires, which have ravaged Southern California over the past several days, were fueled by dry conditions and strong winds. Fires such as the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia, and Kenneth have caused massive destruction, with damages estimated at up to $150 billion. Starting on January 7, the fires have claimed 24 lives, left 16 people missing, and displaced around 150,000 individuals. More than 12,300 structures have been destroyed, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

These fires have also led to the suffering and loss of countless animals. In response, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, shared a link on X (formerly Twitter) to an Instagram post by country music singer Miranda Lambert. The post showed photos of injured animals and called for donations to help cover their medical care at the Pasadena Humane Society. Kid Rock wrote, "Miranda asked me to repost this, and I do what that cowgirl tells me! Please help out if you can. God Bless everyone affected by these horrible fires."

In his post, Kid Rock also took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, both of whom have faced criticism for their handling of the fires. He concluded his message with a blunt statement: "PS - F the Mayor and The Governor! Hollywood liberals need to wake up and stop being so WOKE!"

As of now, Kid Rock’s post has garnered over 200,000 views. President-elect Donald Trump, a supporter of Kid Rock, has also weighed in, blaming Newsom for the devastation. Trump posted on Truth Social, “One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground. It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!” Trump further claimed that Newsom had refused to sign a water restoration declaration that could have helped alleviate the crisis.

In response, Izzy Gardon, Newsom’s communications director, dismissed Trump’s claims, stating, “There is no such document as the water restoration declaration, that is pure fiction. The governor is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need.”

Regarding Mayor Bass, her office has denied a report suggesting she dismissed LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley after the two met amid the ongoing fires. Bass’s office clarified that their priority remains fighting the fires and protecting Angelenos.

Bass has declared a state of emergency in response to the fires, and officials are warning that conditions could worsen due to extreme winds expected to persist. The evacuations have caused significant traffic, with some residents abandoning their vehicles and seeking shelter on the beach. Others, including elderly residents from a Pasadena care home, were evacuated just in time.
